SWFO-L1 Interns
Nextage is proud to highlight our Internship Program, which continued and grew this summer with four talented students supporting the SWFO-L1 Mission Operations Support Team (MOST) at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility in Suitland, Maryland.
For our interns, this was their first experience in the space industry. Our primary goal was to help them explore their interests, gain real-world experience in a supportive environment, and foster their professional growth. Between June 30 and August 22, 2025, Sarah, Emily, Perry, and Connor engaged in various projects designed to enhance their subject matter knowledge and personal competencies, including teamwork, self-confidence, self-management, and problem-solving, thereby boosting their employability skills.
One key area of their work involved building Fault Management Displays, such as Telemetry Monitor Displays (TMONs) and Autonomous Command Block Memories (ACBMs). During Mission Rehearsal #4, they had the valuable opportunity to observe how the displays they created are integrated into the SWFO system and utilized during real-time satellite operations.
Sarah, Emily, Perry, and Connor - we are grateful for your hard work and dedication and wish you all the best for your future!
