Accepted Formats & Naming
Specifics on file names for upload.
Tips:
  • Archive types: ZIP and Gzip Files
  • Common content: Text data files
  • Naming: Include Raspberry Pi Serial Fingerprint
  • Important Notes: Files will automatically be named in the correct format, please do not rename or shorten.
Example filenames:
nextmag.YYYYMMDD.<Fingerprint>.zip
Troubleshooting
Quick fixes for common issues.
“File type not accepted”
Confirm the archive extension matches the allowed list and the server-side validator includes your pattern.
“Upload succeeded but I can’t see data”
Ingest may still be running, or the output landed in a different folder. Check the Console/Viewer after a few minutes.
“Duplicate filename rejected”
Rename the archive token segment so it’s unique (or update uploader to allow overwrite/versioning).

What is NextMAG?
NextMAG is an innovative and affordable magnetometer designed to empower students and researchers worldwide with hands-on experience in magnetic field measurement and data analysis.
How do I upload data?
Go to the Upload page, submit an accepted archive, then verify in the Console/Viewer once ingest completes.
Where do I see my station data?
Find your station on the map and select a valid date range to see your data.
Why isn't my data displaying?
For first time uploaders we manually verify your data. If data doesn't display within 12 hours, please contact us.
